5. Chris Dudley - UnderOath (They're Only Chasing Safety)
Reason - He's not in much of a melody man. When there is melody in his playing it's clean piano, but sometimes he just does it at the right time.

4. Kyle Simmons - A Skylit Drive
Reason - No other synth could fill his shoes. He has the exact sound that fits the guitarists, drummer, and of course, Jag, perfectly.

3. Caleb Shomo - Attack! Attack!
Reason - His programming is good. Things like the end of their latest CD with his little edgy techno beat and 'Shut Your Mouth' are what got him here.

2. Dusty Riach - The Word Alive
Reason - Astonishing stage presence and amazing melody. Also, in their debut album a few of his breakdowns set him apart from most others, using hip hop techniques.

1. Joshua Balz - Motionless in White.
Reason - He's in Motionless in White. And he's part of what makes them so good. He takes charge and gives the band a lot of depth that wouldn't be there if it weren't for him. And his breakdowns... UGH. See his claim to fame here, at 1:48 and here at 1:10. May have just been an EP, but omg did he pull out the stops for those breakdowns.

EVERYONE STOLE SAYING THAT THEY LIKE GRADUATING SOON FROM ME.

I didn't learn anything new.
I liked that not much was done.
I didn't like that not much was done. Twas boring.

There was No Living Creature Foul as I and All of my Poems were False.

So guess who's doing a project in English on Kingdom Hearts! Yup. Me. More specifically, the emotionally adult complexity. Stoked. Turns out there's loadss of symbolism in the theme songs "Simple and Clean" and "My Sanctuary." Simple and Clean speaks a lot of love and being young, ready to become old.


ei. "Simple and Clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight. It's hard to let it go."

"Simple and Clean" = Innocence.
               Innocence = Youth
"...you're making me feel tonight." = Whomever she's with makes her feel innocent/young.
"It's hard to let it go." = Referring to how he makes her feel (innocent/young) she's saying it's hard to let go of youth.
   Letting go of youth = Growing up/Becoming old.




Then My Sanctuary (being in the game that takes place about a year later, once the three inseparable friends have been separated) talks a lot about having already been through a majority of their growth.

ei. "In you and I, there's a new land." "My Sanctuary; Where fears and lies melt away."

"In you and I..." = In their heads, something they share undisputedly, mirrored of their relationship.
"...a new land." = Referring to 'My Sanctuary.'
If the Sanctuary is within the two of them, it cannot exist for one without the other. Therefore, the
      Sanctuary is the bond with the other person.
"Where fears and lies melt away." = When she's with the other person, nothing else exists.

Totally stoked to try and figure out everything else. The game combats with conscience and the yearnings of the mind resorting to evil and such. Really deep game. Gonna be the best project everrrrrrr!

This band was signed by Rise Records (pretty much the most respected label in the genre) BEFORE their first show. They've been a band for less than a year and their on Warped Tour this year. They already have an album out. Frankly, holy ass. Here's their cover of Tik Tok by Ke$ha. It's ridiculous.
